Hi everyone. So I am here in London, making it big in the music scene (sorry Facial Hair, but I can't resist a side project-hey you guys like Jenny Lewis and the blah blah twins!), and dabbling in social care on the side. And, yes, per the title of this blog, I'll soon be starting a collaboration with Morrissey along with having his...ok, this is all a lie so far. For real, ok, I've been here one week, do not have a job-social care or otherwise-YET or a bass guitar or many friends (working on it), nor do I live in Vauxhall, although I like the way the British say it. I am staying with a very kind individual, Kati, and her flatmates in Stratford (East end of London). It has its perks, including being near to lots of public transit (Tube and bus), making it easy to explore other areas, as well. My impression of the East End so far is that it is pretty industrial (at least the section I'm in). I've had the chance to explore the city a bunch. Even went to a castle today (oohh...Windsor Castle, "the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world"-copied that from the brochure). Seriously can you imagine your house being surrounded by a moat. Weather's been good for the most part. There was one rainy day where I developed full out ponds in my shoes. Overall, it's going remarkably well...besides a few understandable blunders as I attempt to adjust. Ok, that's all I can do in one sitting. I'm not a big typer, hence my disdain for e-mail. Plus this is just the intro. More rambling and photos to come! Hope all is well with all of you reading this. Used to dribble down in VA . (Jay-Z was in London this week). Bye.

Jenny Lewis is awesome, and oh yeah I miss Steph.
Thanks to all of you leaving comments! I'm becoming a bit of a "cyber dork" as my brother put it b/c I get really excited when I go to the blog and there are comments. But I miss you people!
Hope youre enjoying the cadbury vending machines steph
...does anyone by chance know the name of the costume shop around carytown?
Oooh yeah, lovin' the Cadbury. I think it's Premiere Costumes...Anyone?
Yeah. It's Premiere Costumes...355-3887. That might not be the real number- I googled it. :( I don't get out much.
"I'm the singer, I'm the singer in the band. You're the LOSER..."
hi joe. hi steph. what are you guys gonna be on haloween? do they even have haloween in the UK? do the british like to dress up and ask for candy treats?
and yes soon i will be living with meda derker and will give up my life to hang with her and watch lesbian court room shows.
Completely by accident...the lesbian court room shows just happened to be on. Lindsay Doles is going to move in, too. The guitar player...but Roberto is moving out her in January, so she'll not really be moving in...he will.
I'm gonna be a peanut butter M&M.
and how will you accomplish this feat, meda? an orange pillow sack with an M & M written on it?...this i'd like to see, give me some ideas for my costume.
I would pay to see Meda in an orange sack. What's all this about lesbian court room shows? Whatever happened to good ole' L-word?? ...In other news, I think I'm gonna go see a movie tonight-Volver by Pedro Almodovar. He did "All about my mother" or whatever it is called...Meda, didn't we just barely watch that hehe? Or was that something else? Either way, it's about women and looks interesting (penelope cruz is in it-thank god she didn't end up having tom cruise's child! ewww)
So now I'm getting my gossip off Steph's blog. Great. Have a fabulous trip to Scotland, I can't wait to hear about it!
Yeah- I think that we just watched that, like, three weeks ago? I bawled...you didn't enjoy it as much. The "L Word" will be watched coming up this October!!!! Really, though, lesbians are taking over Judge Mathis, Joe Brown, and the People's Court. Breaking the rules right and left.
Alex, I think that you should be "jungle lady" or something. Wear your two piece and glue on some leaves. And don't brush your hair or teeth- do you have any tips, Steph? :}
I'm going to wear a big orange garbage bag, fill it with peanut butter and chocolate, a homeless man, and some cats. That should do it..oh yeah, and an "M" on the front. I actually don't have to fill the garbage bag too much...I'm almost rotund enough. Jai guru deva.
Hey Kat- how are you doing?
Have fun up in Scotland, Steph. I forgot to say that...it's gonna be cool. Buy a kilt if you can. Be a Scot for Halloween.
so jealous of steph going to scotland, but i know you'll have a blast. yeah, def buy a kilt, you can wear it at the next facial hair show. fhf!
What up hizo? You're blog has some funny stuff going on. Don't think I can compete. I'm taking Meda on a walk tonight. We call it 'plating,' which is short for platonic dating. Word.
ewww. plating. that's a weird term. welcome, doles. just commented on the newest post's comments that I have yet to see you on, but then, here you are! yea!
I plate(?) all of my friends...it's getting old. Like the wine Alex drank last night....
so the jay-z thing do you know anyone that went to the show? he sure tours and is featured on a bunch of new songs for someone that is 'retired from the business.' dribble down in va ---ooohhh is that what he says??? i cant believe You (<--- thats in italics) knew that and i didnt :-P
What is this "token indian" business...you have never been that to me. Just the one and only, one of a kind Ratna! yeah Jay-Z says "used to dribble down in VA-I forget the name of the song, but one of the well-known ones. I met this one Australian dude who was going to the show and was super excited like a week before he was going. I'll ask him how it was next time I see him (which could be a while or never...cause you never know when you're just meeting people.) I don't know anyone else. I think the price was pretty steep. It's funny, there was a lot in the news about him and various other celebrity friends who came with in town. One article was like "Will Jay-Z pull off the show?" next to a picture of him looking really worried. hehe. I think it was his first ever performance in London. I think.
okay steph, give us some scotland details! Can't have your friends' posts longer than the actual blog, now can we?? :)
